The CLP Regulation EC No 1272/2010 ("Classification, Labeling and Packaging") is a European Regulation, to European System of classification, labeling and packaging of substances, mixtures, metals and ferro alloys by the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) in accordance brings. It complements the Registration, Evaluation, gAuthorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation (EC No 1907/2006) and replaces the Dangerous Substances Directive (67/548 / EEC) and to Dangerous Preparations Directive (1999/45 / EC).
The GHS of the United Nations is an international standard system to classify chemicals, including labels and safety data sheets. It leads, taking into account existing EU regulations, new classification criteria, hazard symbols (pictograms) and labeling texts with safety instructions one.
The Regulation has been in force since 03.01.2011, and requests by the companies to label their products properly before they are moved. The goal is to protect workers, consumers and the environment from the potential, harmful effects of the corresponding materials.
The Regulation also takes over the provisions of the REACH Regulation in relation to notification of classifications, creating a harmonized classification list as well as the creation of classification and label stocks.
